The Banker turned IPS officer was posted in Mandi and she is doing her duty very proudly, which makes her famous. Recently, she was seen in the flood area where the locals are refuged to leave their homes near the Vyas River.
After her study, she was selected for a multinational bank as a banker and worked for three years. During her corporate journey, she realized that she got bored easily and she decided to leave and she is not meant for that job. After leaving that job she decided to crack the UPSC exam. Since her joining, she had made a very crucial role in various positions. She has worked with different departments including Indian Reserve Battalion(3 IRB), CID and she became the first female IPS officer of Shimla.

Since her join in the IPS, She has been placed in many states and played a very crucial role, and solved many critical problems. She has solved a blind murder case as a lady was murdered and looked like a Hindu lady as there was Bindi on her forehead. But the dead body was not claimed by anyone and her last rites were done as Hindu rituals.
Later, Soumya made the idea and circulate the photograph of that lady who was murdered, to various salons and one of the salon owners recognized her as she had made her makeup that day. The investigation was completed and the victim was not Hindu but a Muslim killed by her husband and she was a bar dancer.
